Trump wants to stop NFL ‘massive’ tax breaks for disrespecting America

Donald Trump calls for changes to tax laws to penalize the NFL for disrespecting America. In a tweet Donald trump wrote:

“Why is the NFL getting massive tax breaks while at the same time disrespecting our Anthem, Flag and Country? Change tax law!”

His tweet comes as US Vice-President Mike Pence walked out of an NFL game in between Indianapolis Colts and the San Francisco 49ers after several players refused to stand which he says “disrespects our soldiers, our flag”.

Former San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick started the new trend of kneeling during the national anthem when he sat down during the anthem in a pre-season game in 2016. Later he explained that it was in protest for racial injustice and police brutality against African Americans.

Not everyone in the NFL is for the kneeling during the national anthem Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones saying on Monday that any player on his team who is “disrespectful to the flag” won’t play.

In the nfl “game operations manual” it explicitly says that players that fail to stand for the national anthem:

“failure to be on the field by the start of the national anthem may result in discipline, such as fines, suspensions, and/or the forfeiture of draft choice(s) for violation of the above, including first offenses.”

It is thought that this new rule has recently been added.

What do you think?

  1. Is there any footage of the UFL consolation game on October 22, 2011, between the Nighthawks and the Mountain Lions. I would love to see Troy Smith play and he only played in that game.
