49ers’ Eric Reid says Vice presidents walkout was “PR stunt”

In an interview Eric Ried has said that Vice president Mike pence walking out at NFL game on Sunday between the colts and 49ers was a pr stunt. Mike Pence walked out on the game as no more than 20 players from the San Francisco team knelt during the national anthem.

Donald Trump also tweeted after the walkout that he told Pence to walk if any players dared to kneel during the anthem.

In a statement Mike pence explained why he walked out on the game saying

“I left today’s Colts game because President Trump and I will not dignify any event that disrespects our soldiers, our Flag, or our National Anthem.

“At a time when so many Americans are inspiring our nation with their courage, resolve and resilience, now, more than ever, we should rally around our Flag and everything that unites us.”

Reid who has been a playing for the 49ers since 2013 has told reporters that he thinks that this isn’t the reason why Mike Pence walked saying

“This looks like a PR stunt to me,” adding “He knew that we were the team that had had the most protests, he knew that we were probably going to do it again and so this is what systemic oppression looks like.”.

Was Mike pence right to walkout on the game? Was it just a PR stunt? Or should NFL players shut up and live politics to the politicians?
